The "words":   Around July 1983, on one special trip to Lyndon's hometown of Gulfport MS... on the long 9-hour drive back to Austin, out of the blue, Lyndon told me that he thought he was in love with me!! I actually didn't take him seriously and laughed. (I later learned how much I hurt his feelings, but I really didn't take him seriously at that time) Whoaaa! this was really something to think about now! We had recently dated but very casually. The only reason why I didn't respond differently was because I just never really thought any further than the moment back then. After a few days and some serious thought I realized that I had a GREAT opportunity to do something very few other people ever have the chance to do. My best and closest friend, whom I've shared 3 years of my life with, working with, going to parties and bar hopping with, laughing and crying with, and telling each other very personal things about each other, now could be my life partner! After thinking it over for a few days I told Lyndon all of my reasons why I hadn't taken him seriously earlier. We had some long conversations but we did "become a couple". That was on/around July of 1983 so we decided our official commitment date would be July 1, 1983 even though we've never really "formalized it".  Since then...
Forward: Our lives together since then have been very fulfilling and laced with a lot of laughter, discoveries about each other and genuine happiness. We have worked, side by side, with each other at 2 different companies, owned our own successful business together, and have had the experience of helping to raise a 15 year old girl for a whole year.  We purchased our first home together and both enjoy being homebodies and home owners.  We have lots of pet names together and some of them are non-distinguishable to friends.  Our future thoughts are a future that involves both of us, side by side, together.  Our journey to where we are now has been fairly easy with some minor bumps in the road.  We have both learned a great deal about each other over the years and made many discoveries along the way.
